Avoiding plagiarism through Copyscape
As the doctored version of a famous saying goes, `If one has the will, the ways will be there’. Of late, quite a number of people are trying to become content writers, and they are attracted to this field by the lure of fast and easy money. The money is there and it does come fast too, but in exchange, the content has to be sent… fast too. Those who are interested in this field get to know about the same from their friends and the social networks play a huge part in helping them to meet like-minded persons.

While content writing, per se, is not such a tough task, there are some content providers who make life tough for the newcomers. The instructions are vague and confusing to even experienced writers. Using 7 paragraphs to compose a 290 words article is not tough. The problem starts when one is requested to put in 6 different keywords in 6 paragraphs and 4 other keywords in the initial paragraphs. It is but obvious that the newcomer will get confused. To compound their woes, they have to complete 10 articles in 24 hours.

Not knowing what to do, these new content writers use search engines to find like-minded articles and then copy and paste the same. Then they put in paragraph breaks randomly and insert the keywords without even checking if they are maintaining the structure of the sentence. This results in a plagiarized article. In about 90 minutes all the 10 articles are composed and dispatched to the provider. There is no doubt that these articles will be sent to the trash bin faster than you can wink an eye.

If you have got sufficient confidence in yourself, and have a decent grasp over the English language, there should be no problems in writing a non-plagiarized article. Just have faith in yourself. Search for articles on the web by all means. Read them and try to grasp their meaning. Now try to write the article using your own vocabulary. It might be tough initially, but as you keep on progressing, it will become simple. Try to write a few articles and submit them for evaluation to sites like this one. They will help you out to improve your writing skills.

There are some sites on the web, like Copyscape, that help you to check out your articles for plagiarism. Just upload your article on a blogging site and then paste the URL of the blog site in copyscape’s page. It will detect if your content is matching with any other content on the web and will show you the copied portions by highlighting the same. Most authors do not mind up to 4-5% of matches. The algorithm of Copyscape triggers off if there are 3 simultaneous matching words. If you have written `Latest Car Reviews’ there will be many websites that have similar content. This is not plagiarism.

While most providers state explicitly that they expect the composed copy to be free of grammatical mistakes and should be Copyscape free too, most of them have no idea about grammar themselves. Try to keep your content original. Very few persons write perfect English if passive voice/verb were to be considered. As long as your composition makes sense and passes the Copyscape test, you can avoid plagiarism and at the same time, retain your provider too.

Excellent tips for  newbie writers who are are stepping  into the rapidly growing field of content writing.  Originality is the key  mastering the art of writing simple, plagiarism free content requires tremendous practice.

The sad part is that the newcomers get enticed by the lure of making a fast buck and do not bother to think twice. Just tell me how many content writers are represented here, in this forum? This is just the tip of the iceberg. An all out, pan India, publicity is required to stop the fraudsters, the faster, the better

As one belonging to the sixty-club I'm not familiar with the topic you've dealt here. But then I would very much like to know what this content writing is all about. Can you suggest some tips ?

Content writing refers to the content displayed on any website. Content writers  should be able to write on a variety of subjects and should have an excellent command over the language and an ability to express themselves well. Writing content on any topic requires great analytical skills and creative approach.
